Values

:::STUDENT MINISRTY PURPOSE:::

Connecting People Each Day to Real Jesus by Infusing Truth in Students.

:::VALUES::: (More for adults to lead students)

Undivided Living

Growing in our faith to live life fully for Christ everyday! (EPH 4:12-13, Rom 6:13, Rom 12:1-2, Luke 9:23, Col 3:17, Phil 4:8, Matt 25:23)

Demonstrated by:

-Ones life should demonstrate Christ love and service in all areas: work, home, school, hobbies, etc.

-Leaders must model relational living by contacting the students within their influence once a week, be it starbucks, facebook, dinner, or just a phone call.

Undiluted Truth

As defined by being: Undiluted - not watered down. It is the full measure. Truth – Factor reality, accuracy in description or portrayal. The Bible is our ultimate standard of truth. It is infallible and inerrant. (II Tim 3:16-17, Psalm 119:10)

Demonstrated by:

-Living a life that is consistent with the Scriptures and that demonstrates faith to students on a regular basis; both one on one and within the context of a small group.

-Teaching students to feel comfortable expressing their faith and challenging their ideas so that they grow stronger in defending their faith.

Unexpected Authenticity

Unexpected authenticity in one’s life reflects the undeniable reality of our condition as a group of people that have not yet been fully transformed into God’s image. (2 Cor 3:18)

Demonstrated by:

-Intentionally allowing people within our ministry to see my hurts, pains, issues, and problems so that we can handle them through prayer and in a constructive manner. Not hiding who I really am behind a mask.

-Intentionally looking for ways to relationally bridge the gap between non-believers or Christians who are in a valley who have their own preconceived notions about the church/religion.

Unapologetic Evangelism

Boldly sharing Christ, without regret, with all those we meet along our journey. Mark 16:15 “He(Jesus) said to them (the Disciples), ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.’” Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Demonstrated by:

-Taking the first step of prayer so that our hearts are in the right position. Then begin to try to care for the unbeliever to demonstrate God’s love for them and to try to creatively serve their needs like Jesus did in the Scriptures.

-If necessary share God’s story (creation, fall of man, redemption, new creation) with them to give them the opportunity to turn to Jesus so they have salvation and they can serve God’s Kingdom.

-Keeping a “Whatever It Takes” attitude to win people to Christ.

Unselfish Service

Freedom from an agenda and the desire for recognition. Service means intentionally putting

yourself in second place, just like Jesus did. It is the mark of a mature Christian. (Matthew

25:14-30, Romans 12:1-21, Galations 5:13).

Demonstrated by:

-“No Perfect People Allowed” is the lens through which we will serve students. I will look students in the eye, greet students with a physical touch regardless of who they are or what they look like.

-Taking the time out of one’s day or weekend to find some way to creatively serve someone in our lives, and their needs.

-Looking for daily opportunities to serve people we don’t know who may or may not need anything- the important part is us making the effort. God may use the smallest thing to spark something bigger.
