Hey everyone! In case you haven’t heard we have a new Text Messaging service to keep students, volunteers and parents up to date with events and things they need to know. That’s right you guys. Thx to Tom Francis, who sent me this interesting email, we can know something that gives us all one more reason to make sure our students are at church on any given Sunday or Wednesday night. According to this research done at University of Iowa students who regularly attend religious services/functions have a higher GPA average and have much less tendency to drop out of high school. Welcome to our new online information pipeline for parents designed to help you, the parent, be informed so you can be better prepared. One of the first ways we wanted to test out this two-way information highway was by putting up this informational video on camp instead of having a one hour meeting. Now you get the info in a brief 15 minute video in the comfort of your home or at the workplace- on your own time. We value your time both at home and work so we are going to continue pursuing new ways to allow you to maximize the margins. If you have any questions then feel free to post those questions here on our blog page by clicking on the orange/red link nxt to the word “comments:” below this video. Then we the church staff will answer for all to see and then this information will be there to help other parents who may have the same questions. Technology- isn’t it cool!

Unselfish Service

This is an awesome example of unselfish service. Even though the opposing team would lose for helping this injured player, they did it because she deserved it. We think it is awesome that this received national news just for doing what is right.

One way you could live out a life of unselfish service would be to volunteer your time on Wednesday nights for our services. It is a great first step. This requires the least amount of time and yet your presence would have a great impact on a student’s life.
